When was the last time that you saw Hylan Blvd look like this??? You are now standing at the intersection of Hylan Blvd and Old Town Road facing towards the Verrazano Bridge. I'm pretty sure that there is a bank now standing where that white building is over to the right. Sav-On-Drugs or some kind of drugstore is back here to the left. Richmond Road is also down Old Town Road to the left. I believe this photo was taken during the late 1950's.
Talk about the back woods... This is the intersection of Page Ave and Amboy Road. Again I believe this was taken sometime in the late 1950's. You are standing on Page Ave facing towards the Outerbridge Crossing. That's what that white sign on the right says... pointng the way towards the Outerbridge. This intersection is pretty busy now. Shopping centers and other smaller stores plus many homes have all changed the landscape forever.
Look at how empty it is... This is Hylan Blvd and Jefferson Ave. You are now standing on Hylan Blvd looking towards New Dorp. It's unbelievable to think that this road has ever been so desolate... now-a-days this stretch of road is stop-n-go the whole length during rush hour.
Once again this is Hylan Blvd. You are standing on Hylan and Slater Blvd facing towards New Dorp. Slater Blvd is just a few blocks from Jefferson Ave. It's still unbelievable to see this...
You are now standing on Hylan Blvd and Lincoln Ave looking towards the Verrazano bridge and Dongan Hills... pretty cool huh...
